Biography

John Grover was born on 7 Jun 1692, in Beverly, in the Province of Massachusetts Bay. He was the son of John Grover, Jr., and Sarah Low.^[1] After his grandfather's death (probably by 1695),^[2] he was known as John Grover, Jr.

John married Abigail Hoar on 8 Dec 1715, in Beverly.^[3] Abigail and her three sisters (Mary, Rebecca and Sarah) had been baptized together on 2 Feb 1696, at the First Parish Church of Beverly. They were the daughters of William Hoar and Sarah Ross,^[4] who had been married in Beverly on 3 Jun 1685.^[5] John and Abigail registered the births of three children at Beverly:

1. Abigail Grover (b. 29 Oct 1718)^[6]
2. John Grover (b. 13 Jan 1720)^[7]
3. Rebekah Grover (b. 8 Sep 1723)^[8]

No identifiable documentation has been found for the date or place of John's death. The date presented here, after 1724, simply assumes that he was alive for a while after his daughter, Rebekah, was born in September of 1723.
