Biography

Ruth Grover was baptized on 14 Oct 1677, at the First Parish Church in Beverly in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. She was the daughter of Nehemiah Grover and Ruth Haskell.^[1]

Ruth married John Dodge of Wenham in Beverly on 11 Apr 1698.^[2][3] Ruth was John's second wife, his first wife (Martha Fiske) having died in 1697.^[4]

Note

An unknown source states that Ruth was the twin of Nehemiah and baptized (the source apparently indicates "born") on 5 Aug 1688, the date of Nehemiah's baptism. This is not supported by the collected vital records for Beverly and would, in fact, preclude her marriage to John Dodge in 1698.
