Isabella was born in Augusta County, Virginia, 1845, daughter of Philip Grow and Margaret Daft, married Thomas Croson, from the same neighborhood and moved to Meigs County, Ohio, by 1870. Her brother James and several Daft relatives also located there by 1870. By 1880 Thomas and Isabella had settled in the village of Albany, in Athens County, Ohio, and remained there the remainder of their lives.
