Born Foy David Grubb in 1919 to Rush Grubb and Selecta Buie in Davidson County, North Carolina. He served as TEC 5 US Army WW II. He married Ruby Bauguess. He died in 1995 at age 76 and is buried in Forest Hill Memorial Park, Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina.
