He was a Grocer and wine merchant when he married Jesse Roger Bett on 15 June 1896 at Don's Bank, Auchtermuchty[6].
In 1901 he was living at St Edwinbas Murray Park[7] .
He died of Cerebral Apoplexy at Kilmorack, Pitlochry, Perthshire on 7 June 1925[8].
He was buried in St Andrews Eastern Cemetery, Saint Andrews, Fife, Scotland[9].
