Biography

William Younger Grubb was born in about 1840 in Largo, Fife, Scotland, United Kingdom, son of William Grubb and Margaret Drummond[1].

His siblings were:

  1. George Grubb (1837 - <1850)
  2. Peter Grubb (1838 - <1849)
  3. David Grubb (~1843 - ~1913)
  4. Isabella (Grubb) Trail (~1845 - ~1899)
  5. Peter Grubb (1850 - 1915)

In 1841, William was living in Largo, Fife, Scotland[1]

He was living in Balmain Cotton, Largo, Fife in 1851[2] and in Kame, Largo in 1861 recorded as Grabb in the 1861 census[3].

William married Jean Watt on 26 July 1862 in Largo, Fife[4] and they had three children together,

  1. Rachel Rumgay Grubb (1863 - )
  2. Marjory Grubb (1864 - )
  3. William George Grubb (1866 - ).

In 1871 He was recorded in the Cupar county prison [5] with Rachel Grubb living with her Grandmother Rachel Watt, Marjory Grubb with her grandfather William Grubb And William George Grubb listed as a boarder with Betsey Kidd.

William married Betsy Kidd on September 1872 in Largo, Fife[6]. Their children were:

  1. Elizabeth Grubb (1870 - )
  2. David Grubb (1872 - )
  3. Alexander Grubb (1874 - 1945)
  4. Margaret Lyall Grubb (1877 - )
  5. Peter Grubb (1879 - 1916)
  6. Thomas Grubb (1881 - ).

In April 1881 He was living at Bridge House, largo, Fife with William from his first marriage and Betsy Grubb and their children [7]

In 1891 he was living at the Toll House, Largo, Fife [8] and was still living there in 1901[9]

William died on 28 January 1913 in Largo, Fife, Scotland[10].
