I grew up in Hamilton, Ohio among several generations of my extended family. My interest in the genealogy of our tribe was stimulated by my paternal grandmother, Sarah Louise (Habenicht) Grubbs. She gave me a 93 page type-written genealogy of the Grubbs family that had been researched and compiles by Doris Sackett who lived in Aurora, Dearborn County, Indiana, which is where this branch of the Grubbs family has resided since the early 1800s. This document is undated, but as she says in the Preface, the information contained in it was "received from other family books, family records, the census on microfilm, cemetery records, and the very kind people who answered my letters." Using this document as a starting point and with the help of a computer and the now wide availability of digitized records, I have digitized much of her work and expanded it to include my mother's side of our family as well. I have tried to use only readily verifiable sources of information (census, birth, marriage, and death records) to build this history, but undoubtedly there are errors in it to be corrected. I posted it as a GEDCOM file on the GEDmatch site for comparing DNA, but I have not been able to load it here as it seems to be too large (~5900 people).
