Note: per DGFA, his parents are unknown. Removed connections to Jérôme Guerin-266 & Marie Blanchard-145. We can add them later if proof is ever found.
  • Bona Arsenault's work is not reliable. This is part of the issue with the parents being added to the profile.

Born around 1635 [unsourced], son of Jerome & Marie BLANCHARD [sic]. Francois married around 1658 to Anne BLANCHARD, daughter of Jean & Radegonde LAMBERT. He died around 1670; his widow Anne BLANCHARD remarried to Pierre GAUDET.
  • Stephen A. White works from original sources and carefully documents his work. He doesn't name parents.

François Guérin was the first ancestor of the Guérin families in Acadia.[1] His place and date of birth are unknown, but some assume Martaizé in Loudun, France. No evidence has been produced to support this claim.

François married Anne Blanchard (about 14 years of age) around 1659, likely in Port-Royal. Between about 1660 and 1669 he fathered five children.

He passed away between the birth of his last child around 1669 and 1671 since Anne was listed as a widow in the 1671 census of Port-Royal, living with her 5 children, ages 12 to 2, next door to her parents.[2] His descendants during their depositions at Belle-Isle-en-Mer stated that François passed away in Port-Royal.[3] [4]

[No parents given for him.] Francois GUÉRIN died (Belle-Ile-en-Mer Declaration) at Port Royal before the 1671 census. A note explains that the Belle-Ile Declaration of Claude PITRE was in error in naming Jerome GUÉRIN & Marie BLANCHARD as the original Acadian ancestors. These were rather Francois & Anne BLANCHARD.

I believe the parents should be unknown. See Francogene. If there was the smallest reason to think the parents are known, Beauregard would give them.

Thanks!
