Comes up in some online records as: Carl Herrmann Guenther There is some disagreement as to whether or not this child is the son of Carl Christian Günther and Anna Wilhelmina* Seeger or a different couple: Carl Guenther and Anna Seeger.

Ancestry and Familysearch both note a child of this name indexed and spelled Guenther baptized in Konitz (Chojnice in Polish).

I have found a child indexed at the Pomeranian Genealogical Association website named Carl Herrmann Günther, baptized in 1848 at Chojnice, with Carl Günther and Anna Seeger, there are four more children baptized in Debrzno to a couple of the same name, those four were confirmed as being my ancestor family members by a German researcher.

This child was added at Geni as having been baptized in the Parish/Registration area of Debrzno. Briesen is an older name of Brzeźno, Człuchów in Poland, which was Briesen, Schlochau, Pommern (Pomerania), Westpreußen.

I initially disconnected him from this family, but I discovered shortly thereafter that Carl Christian Günther's parents Andreas Günther and Anna Christina Wehner were married in Briesen. Also: Carl Christian Günther and Anna Whilhelmia Seeger were married 19 Oct 1847, in the parish of Briesen/Debrzno. Carl Herrmann Guenther was born 8 Oct 1848.

So the record for this child may have been incorrectly transcribed. I have not been able to visually access a copy of this record at this time. So I returned this child to this family at Geni (not here at WikiTree) until I can prove that he absolutely is or is not in the correct family.
