1st Baron Wimborne
Ivor Bertie Guest, 1st Baron Wimborne of Canford Magna was born on 29 August 1835 at Dowlais, Glamorgan, Wales. He was the son of Sir Josiah John Guest, 1st Bt. and Lady Charlotte Elizabeth Bertie. His father was owner of the world's largest iron foundry: Dowlais Ironworks.
He was educated at Harrow School in Middlesex, he went on to gain a Master of Arts degree from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1856.
He married Lady Cornelia Henrietta Maria Spencer-Churchill (daughter of John Winston Spencer-Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough and Lady Frances Anne Emily Vane) on 25 May 1868.
Ivor and Cornelia had 9 children: Rosamond Cornelia Gwladys /GUEST/, Corisande Evelyn Vere /GUEST/, Frances Charlotte /GUEST/, Ivor Churchill /GUEST/, Christian Henry Charles /GUEST/, Frederick Edward /GUEST/, Lionel George /GUEST/, Oscar Montague /GUEST/and unknown.
He passed away in 1914.
