Gpa John Guger was born in 1840s in Baden- Baden Germany and immigrated to America in 1867, (at abt age 28) settling first in Wyandotte, Mich. Then in 1869 (two years later) he settled again in Norton Twp section 20, South Muskegon area that would be about the time he met Aradine Brist for her family had settled there years before. It is said Gma & Gpa were successful fruit and vegetable farmers, taking their produce to market in horse and wagon during the harvest seasons. Do not know when they moved to the Farm in Grand Traverse Co. area, just 2 or 3 miles north of Buckley. 1880 US census ~ Norton Twp, Muskegon John Guger- w head 36 Ara w wife 26
