Alvin Taylor Guiher was born in November 1848 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania to Isaac Guiher and Elizabeth Watson.
In 1860, Alvin lived with his parents and five siblings in Madison Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania. His father, Isaac, was an ore digger who fought with the Union Army during the United States Civil War and died in Virginia in 1862. [1]
Alvin's mother, Elizabeth, married Robert Marshall in about 1863.
In 1900, Alvin was a boarder in the home of Edward and Clara Rowen in Bolivar Township, Otterbein Town, Benton, Indiana. He was employed as a day laborer. [2]
Alvin was a single farmer in Lincoln, Gage, Nebraska in 1910. [3]
