George was born 26 September 1877, Pleasant Valley, Canterbury to parents William Guilford and Ann Benbow. [1][2]
He died 18 October 1903, Tarata, Inglewood, Taranaki aged 26 years. [3][4]
He is buried in the Tarata Cemetery, Tarata, New Plymouth District [1][5][6]
ASHBURTON GUARDIAN, VOLUME XXI, ISSUE 6097, 19 OCTOBER 1903, PAGE 3 News just to hand states that a young man named George Guilford, 26 years of age, was found dead at Tarata yesterday. His death is ascribed to epilepsy to which he was subject.[2]
TARANAKI HERALD, VOLUME LI, ISSUE 12391, 20 OCTOBER 1903, PAGE 2 Referring to the sudden death of George Guilford, 26 years of age living at Tarata, the Inglewood Record says that the appearance of deceased, together with the few minutes which had elapsed since he was last seen pointed to death from epilepsy, to which he had been subject from his early youth, the result of an accidental blow on the head from a heavy maul, and from which he never fully recovered.[3]
