GUILFORD—HAWTREE WANGANUI CHRONICLE, VOLUME 76, ISSUE 43, 21 FEBRUARY 1933, PAGE 2 The marriage took place at St. Andrew’s Church, Wanganui, on Saturday afternoon, February 11, of Florence Cordelia, only daughter of Mrs. C. S. Hawtree, Wanganui, and the late Mr. H. G. Hawtree to Horace Albert, third son of Mr. and Mrs, E. A. Guilford, Werewereonga, Waverley. The Rev. G. King performed the ceremony and Mr. E. Golding, of Feilding, uncle of the bridegroom, presided at the organ. Escorted by her uncle, Mr. L. Bindley, the bride looked dainty in her frock of white satin crepe-de-chine, made on simple, close-fitting lines with the skirt falling in soft flares to the ankles and small puffed sleeves with which was worn long silk lace mittens. She wore a beautiful hand-embroidered veil kindly lent by a friend which was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom across the head and also across the back. A sheath of white and pale pink gladiolas was carried and she wore a beautiful cut crystal necklace the gift of a friend. The bride was attended by Mrs. E. Cox, of Ngutuwera as matron of honour and Miss L. Guilford, Werewereonga as bridesmaid, the former wearing a frock of rose pink satin crepe-de-chine made with a graceful skirt flaring from the knees to the ankles and the cross-over bodice being edged with a soft pleated frill going to form a bustle bow at the back. Her soft felt hat and satin shoes were the same shade as her frock and she carried a shower bouquet of pink asters' and wore a crystal necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Lorna Guilford those apple-green satin with a tight-fitting bodice with a distinctive neckline of pleated frilling and a full flared scalloped skirt also edged with pleated frilling and’ wore a head band of green satin. She carried a shower bouquet of pale pink asters and wore a gold signet ring, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. W. J. Guilford attended the bridegroom as best man. After the ceremony Mrs. Hawtree held a reception at her home, where pink, white and green were the predominating colours. On the bridal table stood the handsome two-tiered square cake, which was the gift of the bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. L. Hindley. To receive her guests, who numbered about forty, Mrs. Hawtree wore a graceful frock of navy crepe-de-chine relieved with fawn and a black and white Bankok hat. Her bouquet was deep pink carnations. Mrs. E. Guilford wore a charming frock of black and white silk voile with a black and white Bankok hat and carried a bouquet of mauve asters. When Mr. and Mrs. Guilford left later in the evening the latter was wearing a smart brown flecked tweed costume with hat and shoes to tone. Amongst the guests were Mr. and Mrs. E. Golding, Mr. Billings (Feilding), Miss H. Guilford (New Plymouth), Mr. D. Guilford (Waverley), Mr. J. Guilford (Werewereonga), Mr. and Mrs. E. A.
