Jean Guilfou was born about 1756 in Corsica, Italia.

Jean (31) married Maria Leonora Marie (Plasencia) Guilfou (21) (born about 1766 in Canarias, Spain; daughter of Gaspar Plazencia and Melchora Gabriela Garcia) on 3 Feb 1788 in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. Their known children were:

  1. Maria de los Dolores (Guilfou) Martinez (1792– )
  2. Catharina Carmelita Manuela Guilfou (1797–1860)
  3. Maria Manuela (Guilfou) Acosta (1799–1855)
  4. Henriette Ana (Guilfou) Carbo (1804–aft. 1843)
