Biography

Pedro was born about 1681 to Geronima Guillén and possibly Tomas de la Mora.[1][2] He was married to Maria Ramos and they had at least two daughters, Ursula and Francisca.[3] He was a soldier at the Santa Fe Presidio and was one of the four Spanish survivors of the Vallasur Expedition in 1720.[4] In 1732 he was arrested with 3 others for accidentally shooting a fellow soldier when celebrating the birthday of "Nuestra Señora."[5] He was released but probably left the military and moved to Santa Cruz after this event.

By this time, his wife had died and in 1731 he had married María Trujillo.[6] They had four children before his death in 1745.[7]

Guillen-133 and Guillén-124 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate profile. Burial record says "doce" Oct 1745.

Pedro Guillen could not have been born in New Mexico in 1681, since the Spanish had been driven out of NM during the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 and did not return until 1692. He may have been born in Guadalupe del Paso. His children may have been: Antonio de los Dolores Guillen, b. 5Mar1739; Francisco Guillen, b. 1Aug1732; Juana Angela Guillen, b. 11May1734; Ysidro Guillen b.15May1744 all in Santa Cruz, NM.
