Jean Baptiste (Guillet) Guillet dit Tourangeau a vécu
au Canada, Nouvelle-France.

Jean René Guillet est né le 28 août 1726, baptisé le 30 à Québec (Notre-Dame), fils de Philippe Guillet et d'Angélique Martineau.[1] He is baptised Jean René

Note both Jean René and his brother Jean Baptiste used the name Jean Baptiste, one of them married Marie Josephe Pilote on 29 September 1750[2], the other married Marie Anne Thibault on 28 September 1750[3]; this man, widower of Marie Anne Thibau, remarried on 29 September 1778 with Marie Louise Degrer (sic).[4]; listed as widower of Marie Anne Thibaut he died on 25 August 1789 in Hôtel-Dieu of Québec and was buried the next day in the hospital cemetery, the record giving him 74 years of age,[5] which would put his dob around 1715, obvious overestimation.

Census of 1744, Pierre, eldest, is around 20 then, working for the general , Jean (Jean René), around 18, is in Montréal, and Philippe, around 16, is in Pointe-aux-Trembles (Neuville): It appears that Jean Baptiste got named Philippe on this census.

Buried 14 JUN 1784. L'Assomption, Essex, Province of Québec (now in Ontario, Canada).
