René or Herné Guillot dit l'Angevin was born about 1693-1695 in Doix, in the diocese of Angers in Poitou (today Doix-lès-Fontaines, Vendée), France. [1] [2]

Little is known of his parents. Stephen White has no mention of them. Karen Theriot Reader gives a father's last name but no first name and no mother.[3]

He reportedly has a brother Henri who came with him to Acadie in 1710, although no parents or sources are provided.[4]

When his son Rene was married in 1751, he and Marguerite were listed as from Copequit Parish.[5]

He was recorded on the La Roque census at Pointe Prime, Isle Saint-Jean (under the name Herné Guillot) with his daughter Marie Josèphe. Also in the household was Jean-Baptiste Guillot and his 3 children. (likely his son). No spouses were listed. [1]

He died after 1758 in Saint-Malo, Bretagne (today Ille-et-Vilaine), France [2]
