Biography
John was born in Bath in 1819.
He emigrated with his wife Jane and his family of four children[1] on the vessel the John Phillips, Sailed from London 23 December 1851, arrived Auckland 5 April 1852.[2]
He was a prominent New Zealand landscape artist.
He died of cancer on 1 November, 1888[3] and was buried in the Wakapuaka Cemetery.
