Research Notes

The parents and marriages are definitely correct, as:

  • Her mother's death notice says "died at residence of granddaughter, 84 Fitzgerald Ave", and that is where Hannah Jane Gunn lived in the electoral roll.
  • Her own will names Hannah Winifred Campbell as niece.

The age at death given as 43 would seem to be incorrect. Also, a December 1898 newspaper article about her parents' separation said that the eldest child was 17; this must be a mistake in the article -- although a consistent mistake with the age. It could be possible her mother lost track of the children's ages and they all believed they were younger than they were.

No record of any children for Hannah.
