Clarence Gunn is a part of US Black heritage.

Clarence was born in 1897 in Massachusetts.

He was the son of Martin Gunn and Minnie Van Allen, the twin brother of Clifford W. Gunn, the grandson of Civil War veteran David H. Van Allen of the all-black 54th Massachusetts regiment, and the nephew of Civil War veteran Charles T. Way of the same regiment as his grandfather.
