Spencer was born about 1844. He was the son of Charles Gunn and Jane Haight. He passed away in 1876.

Son of Charles Gunn Jr., born about 1818 in Onondaga, Onondada, New York, and died 19 Oct 1875 in Coldwater, Branch, Michigan. Brother of George M. Gunn (1845-1914), who is also buried in Columbia Cemetery.

Spencer enlisted in Company F of the 12th Michigan Infantry Regiment on 23 Feb 1864, he was promoted to Full Corporal on 3 Dec 1864 and to Full Sergeant on 5 May 1865. Spencer was mustered out on 15 Feb 1866 at Camden, Arkansas.

Died aged: 31y 29d

Burial in Columbia Cemetery, Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado, USA: Plot: B67-1 NE[5]
