James was born in 1841. He is the son of Thomas Gunner and Ann Barnard. In 1871, James married Emma Hulcoop, and they became the parents of a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Emily.
Research Note
We have seen a copy of the 1891 Census, confirming that both James and Emma survived to that date. However, we see no subsequent census records for either of them, nor any verifiable death records.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
