Biography
Jane was a Friend (Quaker)
The birth on 23 March 1789 in the parish of St George Tombland, Norwich of Jane, the daughter of Joseph and Jane Gurney, was recorded by Norwich Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends.[1][2][3]
Jane married Hnery Birkbeck at Wymondham Quaker Meeting House, Norfolk. The Quaker marriage record describes him as a banker of King's Lynn, Norfolk.[4][5] They had one son:
Henry, born at Lakenham, Norfolk on 10 February 1821[6][7]
Jane died on 21 February 1821, probably at their home in Gayton, and was buried at Norwich Quaker burial ground on 27 February.[8][9] Given that her son Henry was born on 10 February 1821, she may have died of complications following childbirth.
