Biography

William was born in 1803. He was the son of William Gurr and Mary (Wall) Gurr.^[1]

He married Emma Collins in Bexley, Kent on 31 May 1826.^[2]

They had children:

1. Emma Gurr (1827)
2. Mary Ann Gurr (1828)
3. William Gurr (1829)
4. John Gurr (1831)
5. Sarah Gurr (1832)
6. George Gurr (1834)
7. Edward Gurr (1836-1890)
8. Charles Gurr (1837-1907)
9. Harriet Gurr (1840)

At the time of the 1841 Census William and Emma were living in High Street Chatham with eight children.^[3]

Emma passed away in 1846.^[4]

He married (2nd) Mary Elizabeth Sunnex in Chatham, Kent on 22 March 1847.^[5][6]

They had children:

2. Louisa Gurr (1849)
3. Elizabeth Gurr (1850)
4. Sarah Gurr (1851)
5. Henry Gurr (1854)
6. Alfred Gurr (1857)

At the time of the 1851 Census William and Elizabeth are living in High Street Chatham with 9 children. William is working as butcher.^[7]

He passed away in 1857.^[8]
