Biography
- 14th of Guthrie
"Colonel" James Guthrie was born about 1690 at Guthrie. He married in 1704 to Margaret (Mart.) Turnbull, daughter of John Turnbull of Strickcathrow (aka Stracathro). They had at least five children, although the Scottish Historical Review, 1907, on page 480 states "one issue", citing Burke's Landed Gentry .
