Research Notes

Retired Farmer is Dead a Blair Home – Blair, Neb., March 7 (Special.) Christohper Gutschow age 76 years and a pioneer of this county, died Sunday afternoon of heart failure, following a severe case of grip and pneumonia. Mr. Gutschow was born in Germany and came to this country in 1869. He was the owner of a 280 acre farm near Blair, retiring from farm life and moving to this city about two years ago. His wife died some twenty years ago and he leaves in this city an older brother, Joseph, a niece, Mrs. Minnie Cannon, and his children, Chris, Fred, Will, Margaret and Katherine of Blair, Mrs. August Frahm of Calhoun and Mrs. Frank Donaldson of Council Bluffs. The funeral services will be held from the German church at 2 o’clock Wednesday. Revf. Lambert officiating, and interment will be in the Blair Cemetery conducted by the German verein of which he has been a member for many years. Omaha Daily Bee, March 8, 1916, page 4
