Biography

Jullana (Guttlein) Sanger was a Volga German.

Jullana was born in 1876. She passed away in 1956.

Research Notes

Birth place was stated as "Hildmannsfeld, Schwarzach, Bühl, Baden, Germany" by profile manager David Dreiling, but without any source given.

On the other hand her census records from 1920,^[1] 1930,^[2] 1940^[3] and 1950^[4] state her origin as Russia. The 1920 census with "Saratof, Russia" even states a city (from which more or less all people on this census page and their parents came from).^[1]

Her daughter's FindAGrave page states that one's birth place as Leichtling.^[5] After it had been part of the Semenovka Parish and before becoming an independent parish of it's own, Leichtling belonged to Hildmann Parish.^[6] That's probably how the origin of Hildmannsfeld came up in the first place.

When looking at the names that resided in Leichtling, one finds both Gittlein and Sanger, which makes this theory even more likely.^[7] Güttlein and other forms can be found in basically every available census from Hildmann.
