Walter, born William Walter Guy, a Carpenter, was born on the 2nd of June, 1877, in Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand.^{[citation needed]} the 2nd of 6 children of William Guy and Annie Colvin.

At 28, in 1905, he married Hughina Mills in New Zealand and they had 2 children.^[1][2]

At 57, on the 20th of October, 1934, resident at 25 Queen Street, Dunedin, he died in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand..^[3] and was buried in the Dunedin Andersons Bay Cemetery, Block 116, Plot 127, Class C.^[3][1][4][5]
