Joseph was born on 18 April 1759 in Massachusetts and received lay baptism at birth. The baptism was supplemented on 30 September 1766 in Notre-Dame parish in Quebec for Joseph and his brother Charles who was also born in exile.[1]. He was the son of Augustin Guédry and Marguerite Picot.
On 20 January 1817 in Saint-Jacques-de-l’Achigan he married Marguerite Poirier, daughter of François Poirier and Marie Madeleine Arsenault.[5]
No known children of this marriage (PRDH).
Joseph became a widower in Dec 5, 1842 when Marguerite died in St. Jacques de l'Achigan. His name was given Joseph Labine on her burial record.[6]
Research Notes
According to the website Nos Origines Joseph passed away on 13 March 1853 in St-Alexis, Montcalm. This record shows that a Joseph Guildry dit Labine, who was married to Marguerite Landreville, died on that day at the age of 102, and was buried 2 days later. [7] Marcel Landry gives this date for his death as well. More research is needed to make sure it is the same man. There is no indication that he was married to a Marguerite Landreville.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:
Hi Cindy - go ahead and change the LNAB - thank you for asking and and keeping me informed. And an FYI i have removed myself as profile manager for ease of work for the project. Thanks again
HI, Nicole, his LNAB should be spelled Guédry. This is also what is on his original baptism record. Would you be willing to make the change, or would you prefer that I do it?
Cindy
Thank you, Cindy
