Biography

Benjamin was born in 1767 to Joseph Guéret and Josephte Morin. He was baptized on Oct 4, 1767 in St. Louis two months after his birth in Riviere du Loup. He married at age 29 and passed away in 1804 at 36 years old. His death record says that Capt. Anselme Robichaud reported his death. He died in Riviere du Loup (date not given), but was buried at St. Andre, Kamouraska, Quebec on Jun 5, 1804.

His name is given several different ways: Guéret dit Dumont, Dumont, Dumond, and Dumon. It seems his children were baptized without Guéret.
