Biography

François Godin died young.

François Godin was born about 1697 in Acadie, Nouvelle-France, son of Laurent Godin dit Chatillon and Anne Guérin.[1]

Âgé de 20 ans à son décès en 1718

He lived with his family in Beaubassin in 1698[2] and 1700[3].

The family was stilll in Beaubassin in 1707[4] but not in the census of 1714.

François died on Feb 17, 1718 in Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly, Québec, Canada, Nouvelle-France, aged about 20. His name was spelled Gaudin.[5]

Richard, I wonder if this person was accidentally made with his mothers last name Guerin, rather than his fathewr name Godin? Godin is the standard Acadian spelling and should be used as LNAB. If you wish to change it, that would be great. Otherwise I can do it. THank you, Cindy
