Biography
Arthur Clayton Gwinn was born on July 10, 1911 in Bow, Alberta, Canada. He was the son of Louis James Gwinn and Cora Etta Caldwell. [1]
In 1916, according to the Canada Prairie Provinces census, Arthur was 5 years old and living with his parents and 4 older siblings on their farm in Bow River, Alberta. [2]
When Arthur was 18 years old he married Bessie B. Havaruk in Wainwright, Alberta. [3] He potioned for divorce and got full custody of their child in 1939. [4] Shortly afterward he married Edith M. Routledge in 1939, also in Wainwright, Alberta. [5] Together they had two children.
Arthur Clayton Gwinn died on April 21, 1989 in Viking, Alberta at the age of 77 years. He was laid to rest at Irma Cemetery in Irma Alberta on April 25th.
GWINN, Arthur Clayton On Friday. April 21, 1989, Mr. Art Gwinn of Irma, Alberta passed away in the Viking General Hospital, at the age of 77 years. Mr. Gwinn leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Edith of Irma, Alberta: one son, Wayne and his wife Colleen of Irma, Alberta; one daughter, Esther (Mrs. Floyd Hinecker) of Edmonton, Alberta; his grandchildren, Joan, Doug, Charlene, David, Donald, Cora-Lee and Dale; as well as eight great-grandchildren; also two sisters, Gertie Terry of Hardisty. Alberta and Ada Lathrop of Spokane, Washington, U.S.A.; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Art Gwinn was conducted from the Irma United Church, Irma, Alberta on Tuesday, April 25, 1989 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ann McGrath officiating. Interment followed in the Irma Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetic Society. McLeod's Funeral Home of Wainwright in care of arrangements. 1-842-4211.
