Biography

Marriages

Married: 1st - Ralph Bluet.
Married: 2nd - Sir John Poyntz of Iron Acton. They were married by September 1362 when John Poyntz and Margery his wife sued for one third of the manors Stradewy and Egleshelgh as dower from her first husband, Ralph Bluet. Ralph Bluet had first been married to Elizabeth daughter of Rees ap Rees. In 1372, Elizabeth Picot the granddaughter of Ralph Bluet by his first wife, sued John Poyntz and Margery for the manor of Thurleston; Margery was still holding this manor in dower at the time of her death. Margery died one month after her husband with a writ issued to take her IPM on 14 July 1376. A repeat writ of diem clausit extremum was issued on 23 January 1377 for Margery late the wife of Ralph Bluet, presumably to inquire as to what she held in dower from her first husband. This IPM survives and shows that she died 24 March 1376 without issue by either husband, and that her heir was her nephew Anselm Gyse, son of her brother Anselm Gyse.

Death

Died: 24 March 1376
Date from IPM.
Died on Monday before the Annunciation, 50 Edward III.
She died without children by either husband, Her heir was her nephew, Anselm de Gyse (son of brother Anselm de Gyse).
