Annie lived with her parents and siblings in George Street, Wombwell, Yorkshire in 1881 and 1891.[2][3]
When Annie's mother passed away in 1896, [4] Annie was called upon to take care of her father and the younger members of the family. Annie's younger sister Ellen (Nellie) Gyte was disabled and Annie would take care of her until 1938 when Nellie passed away.[5] In 1901 Annie was at home at 52 George Street, Wombwell with her father and Nellie. [6] Her sister, Ada Gyte and brother, Percy Gyte were patients in Kendray Fever Hospital when this census was taken[7]
Annie married Frederick William Hitch on 31 Dec 1906 in St Marys Church, Wombwell, Yorkshire. [8][9]
In 1911 when the census was taken Annie still lived at 52 George Street, Wombwell, along with her husband Frederick, and her Father, her brother Percy and sister Nellie. Annie and Frederick also had a baby daughter Ada Hitch.[10]
When the 1939 register was taken Annie and Frederick lived at 36 Loxley Avenue, Wombwell, Yorkshire. Their son William Henry Hitch was living with them.[11]
