Jean-Baptiste Gélinas was born on January 10, 1832 in Saint Anne d'Yamachiche, Saint-Maurice, Quebec, Canada, son of Jean-Baptiste Gélinas (1798 - 1880) and Pelagie Chenay (~1807 - ~1869).[1]
Jean-Baptiste married Adele Caron (1841 - 1904) on August 2, 1858 at Saint-Étienne-des-Grès, Saint-Maurice [2]
Jean-Baptiste died on November 23, 1870 in Saint-Boniface-de-Shawinigan, Saint-Maurice, Quebec, at the age of 38. [3]
