Elisabeth von Görz-Tirol was born before 1262, the daughter of Meinhard IV, Count of Görz and Tirol (or Tyrol) and his wife Elisabeth of Bavaria; she may have been their eldest child. Her father was later created Duke of Carinthia in 1286.
Elisabeth married in 1274 (possibly 20 December) at Vienna (Wien), Austria, Albrecht von Habsburg, the eldest son of Rudolf I von Habsburg, King of Germany and his first wife, Gertrud (Anne) von Hohenberg.
They supposedly had 21 children, but only the names of the following 12 are known; the other 9 if they existed must have died young;
Elisabeth's husband, Albrecht was installed as Governor of Austria 1281 and succeeded as joint-Duke of Austria in December 1282. He was elected as King of Germany on 24 June 1298 and again on 27 July 1298 and was crowned at Aachen on 24 August 1298. Elisabeth was crowned as Queen (Königin) of Germany at Nürnberg in 1299.
She was an energetic woman
Her husband was murdered by his nephew Johann and other conspirators near Brugg-an-der-Reuß on 1 May 1308. Elisabeth's implacable pursuit of the murderers has coloured her later descriptions. She and her daughter Agnes, later had the monastery and nunnery of Königsfelden built on the site.
Elisabeth died at Vienna on 28 October 1313 and was buried at Königsfelden Church in 1316 (probably once it was completed). She was later re-buried at the Abbey Church of St Paul in the Lavant Valley in Carinthia.

I'm setting up the merge into Görz-Tirol, though I'm not sure of what the definitive LNAB should be. Görz-Tirol? Görz?
