Proof of immigration in 1773: Signatures of Christian Gotz and Valentine Gotz signing the Oath of Allegiance on September 27, 1773 in Philadelphia match their signatures in the 1788 probate records of Christian Gotz/Kitts! Therefore, they are not connected to the Gotz Family of Beihingen. George, being born in 1759 was not old enough to be listed on the passenger list. Minimum age was 16 years old. Out of 247 passengers on the Ship Union arriving September 23, 1773 only 95 are listed, women and children under 16 were not.
