Biography

Peter was born in 1767. He was the son of Christian Gungerich. He passed away about 1816.

Note

1) I happened upon this statement in "Amish Mennonites in Tazewell County" while researching the Orendorff family: "Daniel Ohrendorf on Grübenbach farm at Burg-Gemünden in 1803. Burg-Gemünden is in the valley of the Ohm River, 20 miles northeast of the university town of Giessen. In 1803 it was part of the Landgraviate of HesseDarmstadt. According to Hermann Guth, another tenant on Grübenbach farm was Peter Güngerich/Jüngerich; a Bender family lived on Hof Sorge at Burg-Gemünden at the same time."

2) I changed multiple locations (Birth, death, marriages) from Waldeck, Bavaria to Waldeck, Hesse as that is the correct vicinity, if not the correct term. It's very unlikely that any of these events occurred in the city of Waldeck, but rather in the "Principality of Waldeck (1712-1848)", now part of Hesse. (Greg Gingerich)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:
