Biography

Sijmon married 1 Meinoutje Broers. Children: Pieter (Sept 5 1734), Dieuwertjen (Oct 9 1735), Jan (Oct 7 1736).

Sijmon married 2 Jannetje Cornelis. Children: Krelis (May 8 1740), Cornelis (Jan 19 1743), Frans (Jan 2 1746). ^[1]

The Bovenkarspel Reformed Church marriage records don't begin until 1752. Sijme de Haas is listed that year as living in Broekerhaven.

In his father's testament dated Dec 29 1720, 13 year old Sijmon is listed as receiving from his recently deceased father a silver knife with the figure of a lion on it, along with a black dress coat, a colored dress coat and pants, a red vest with silver buttons, red underwear and half the shirts and ties / scarves his father owned. Since his mother died when he was 6 and his father when he was 13, he probably soon after this started working.

His son Jan buried him.
