Hi Jozua

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge. Now it is time to pick a project for the 1700's profiles.

It looks like South African Roots would be a good fit with the contributions you entered. Adding the tag South_African_Roots will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Also look at Language volunteers Tag for this is Language_volunteers

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Or Check the list of active projects to see if one better fits your needs.active projects

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi Jozua,

I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically significant ancestors? I see you have surnames for tags. Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

You might be interested in one of the other Projects that can be found here.

Let me know if you need any help!

We're glad to have you on board!!

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Shirley Dalton, WikiTree Mentor

Jozua, do you speak any Afrikaans or other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | af | en-3 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak Afrikaans natively and advanced English, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or nl-1 for basic Dutch, etc. It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree!

Hi Jozua,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email you receive from WikiTree will contain links to help you get started. We hope you will take time to browse the site and check us out.

WikiTree is FREE, and different from other genealogical sites. Our goal is to have one Profile per person, which means we collaborate as a team.

If you would like to join us, add your own family, share research, and collaborate with others, simply confirm your email address, fill out the TAGS on your Profile page, click SAVE TAGS, and VOLUNTEER. (information on Tags can be found at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags). Once you opt to Volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

Hope you decide to join us!
