He was the son of Janos and

Nick Haasz Jr., 81, passed away Dec. 3, 1998, at Akron City Hospital.

He was born July 28, 1917, in Romania, and grew up in the Akron area. Mr. Haasz was a life member of the Akron Optimist Club, past president and lieutenant governor of the Optimist Club, a longtime member of the German-American Club, and a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church. He worked for 40 years in the auto industry, and was a devoted family man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Donna, Don and Diane, Bob and Elaine, and Dave Haasz; sister, Elizabeth Komer; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren: Friends may call TODAY from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Farley Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. (at Gilchrist). Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with Reverends John Eiwen, Dennis Schwalenberger and Robert Pase officiating.
