Biography

John Hacker was the only son of John Hacker. He was named in his father's 1653 Will to inherit land in colonial Virginia.[1]

On 17 September 1657, he agreed with his widowed mother Elizabeth Hacker to sell the patent on that land.[2] The deed states that John Hacker was not yet of age on that date, so he must have been born after 1637.

While the senior John Hacker styled himself "of Stepney" at the time he wrote his Will, there seem to be no records of his son's birth there.

Some genealogists [3] [4] have asserted that John Hacker Jr removed to Virginia at a later point, but this claim appears to be second-hand, without evidence supporting it.
