Mrs. Philip Jokisch, lifelong resident of Cass county, died at her home in Bluff Springs this morning at 6:15 o'clock following an illness of several months. The body was brought to Beardstown and taken to Cline Funeral home to be prepared for burial, and will be taken back to the home in Bluff Springs Sunday morning. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon from the late home in Bluff Springs at 2 o'clock. Sarah Lydia Hackman was born on October 28, 1857 near Arenzville, Ill., where she lived until her marriage to Philip Jokisch on February 7, 1884. Following her marriage she resided on a farm south of Bluff Springs where she has lived until her death this morning. The deceased was a member of the German M. E. church at the Jockisch settlement until that church was discontinued, when the memberships were transferred to the Bluff Springs Methodist church and up to the time of her illness she was an active worker in the Ladies Aid Society of which she was a member. Mr. Jokisch preceded her in death on April 14, 1928 and her son Orin on February 14, 1928. A daughter , Edna also preceded her in childhood. One brother Henry Hackman and two sisters Mrs. Minnie Winklehake and Mrs. Sophia Kors have also passed away. The surviving are the following children: Mr. Oswell Jokisch, of Bluff Springs: Mrs. Viola Fiedler, Springfield: Mrs. Verna Thompson, Mrs. Inez Chambers and Mrs. Irene Seaman of Bluff Springs, together with one sister Miss Tillie Hackman of Beardstown and two brothers, Herman Hackman of Beardstown and Ed Hackman of near Arenzville, and nine grandchildren.
