Beatrice Annie Haddock was born on 17 March (Saint Patrick's Day) 1884 at 26 Osborne Street. Belfast, to Thomas Haddock and Martha (Wilson) Haddock. She was the first baby girl to be born to her parents for many years (she had six older brothers). Beatrice's sister Frances, then aged 16, was present at her birth and probably helped to deliver her.
Tragically, on 12 April 1886, Beatrice died from bronchitis at 26 Osborne Street. She was 2 years old. Her elder sister Frances was present at her death. On 23 September 1886, five months after Beatrice's death, her younger sister Bertha (whose name was probably a combination of Beatrice's name and their mother Martha's name) was born.
