Research Note
Moses Hadley's parents are suggested to be Moses and Mary (Pierce) Hadley; however, no sources can be found to confirm these parents at this time. Because Moses Hadley was married twice and had children with both wives, there has been information conflated for these children. As above in his biography, Moses was married to 1) Rebecca Cartwright (1781-1812) with whom he had two daughters, and 2) Susanna (alias Susan) Hazeltine (1788-1871) with whom he had six daughters. The Find-a-Grave profile for daughter Martha (Hadley) Cook provides extensive information as to the births and deaths for her parents, Moses and Susan (Hazeltine) Hadley and lists parents for Susan (John Hazeltine (1763-1856)) and Hannah Ayer (1767-1835) of Concord, Merimack, New Hampshire). Martha (Hadley) Cook also lists 5 other siblings and at least 2 'step' siblings from Moses' first marriage to Rebecca Cartwright. These would be 'half' siblings. Please be cautious when connecting children to Moses Hadley to assure they are connected with the correct mother. FamilySearch has conflated children in several records likely because the only marriage listed is to Rebecca Cartwright.
