I grew up hearing family memories from my Dad (Albert), he had no family photos or anything other than his own personal documents but he had a memory that even in his last years didn't waver. Most of the stories he told me of his relatives turned out to be accurate or very close. A few when sources were located explained the little variations he wasn't sure of. He encouraged and enjoyed every discovery along the way and was one of the main reasons I still follow the genealogy path to this day.
I was also very fortunate to have both my grandmothers in my life until my own children were small, as well as many other family members that I spent many hours talking to and sharing information with, scanning records and photos located along the way.
Finding and becoming a member of the local Genealogical Society was also key in finding my way through the family tree.
Aside from Genealogy my interests include many things: knitting, reading, history, scrapbooking.
I graduated Grade 12 and attended/completed a 1 year College Certificate program immediately. I have worked now for over 40 years in the Dental field as a Certified Dental Assistant and still enjoy the challenges that go along with that.
When not working I can be found spending time with family or pursuing one of my many pastimes.
