Hugh Hagan was born on 26 August 1913 in Tooborac, Victoria, Australia, the son of Mary Cheswright and David Alexander Hagan.^[1]

He married Alice Catherine MacDonald in 1943 in Victoria.^[2]

Hugh died on 21 May 1989 at Mount Koala, Tooborac, aged 75 years.^[3] Probate was granted on 12 September 1989.^{[citation needed]}
