Biography
Martha was born about 1817, probably in Mullaghdoo, Islandmagee, County Antrim, Ireland, the daughter of Samuel Hagan and Jennie Unknown.
In 1849 she married James Duffy, a labourer from Islandmagee, in 1st Islandmagee Presbyterian Church. The witnesses were Thomas Nelson and Agnes Haigan.[1]
Martha passed away in 1892 in Mullaghdoo, Islandmagee, aged 75 years, from decay of nature. She was the widow of a sailor. The informant was her sister Agnes Brown from Mullaghdoo who was present at her death.[2]
