Biography
Joseph was born about 1857. [1] He may have been the son of George Hagan and Matilda Crooks of Ballynagilly, Lissan, County Tyrone.
He came to New Zealand around 1879. [2]
In 1881 in New Zealand he married Catherine McCaffrey. (Spelling may not be correct) [3]
He passed away 1 October 1935 age 79 at Christchurch and is buried at Bromley Cemetery. [4] [5] [6]
Research Notes
Parents are tentative. I made this connection after trying to follow "Grandson: George Hegan, son of Joseph" in the will of George Hagan (abt.1813-1895). He has a son George; the ages are correct; and he is only in one ancestry-com tree but it does give a birthplace of County Tyrone.
